GO-GROCER

About

Go-Grocer is a mobile farmer’s market designed for older adults that makes grocery shopping more equitable and safe, while also fostering a sense of purpose during the pandemic. Agism is widespread in our society today, and especially so in the way experiences and spaces are designed. Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, it has become more apparent how inequitable environments are suited for this population. Grocery shopping has become one of the only social interactions we engage with, but stores can pose a health safety risk to older adults. Go-Grocer brings groceries closer to senior living facilities so older adults don’t have to rely on transportation or caregivers for their mobility. The open space of the market promotes safer shopping but also creates a gathering space for communities.
